Ernest Bang- cimbalom

Ernest Bang, born in 1968, is the son of a famous cimbalom player. Before he was allowed to take up that instrument, at the age of seven, his father had insisted that he learn to play the violin and piano. After a classical training at the Bla Bartk Conservatory, where his teachers included Ferenc Gerencsr,and gnes Szakly, he eventually turned to gypsy music and in 1986 was awarded a soloists diploma. He has appeared in Geneva, Cairo, Dsseldorf, Toronto and Montreal.In the year 1990 he joined the band of Roby Lakatos in Bruxelles, who is todays most celebrated gypsy violonist. After 17 years of touring worldwide in all the bigest concert halls like Santoury Hall in Tokyo, Royal Albert Hall in London, Carnegie Hall in New York etc, he got back to hes roots to Budapest in 2007. In hes carrier he appeard playing with great musicians like Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Ida Handel, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, Stephane Grappeli, Zubin Metha etc. He recorded several cds with famous labels including Deutsche Grammophon. He is performing the Kodly: Hry Jnos suite, with different philharmonic orchestras all around the world. You can listen to him every night at Budapests best restaurant, the Nosztalgia tterem. From 2009 hes touring 4-5 times a year in Norway, with Gjertruds Gypsy Orchestra. He hopes to see you in one of hes concerts.

Laszlo Balogh

Was born in Budapest on the 1st of June 1987. Raised within a musical family, he started studying music at the age of 6 with professor Agnes Szakely of the Toth Aladar Academy in Budapest. His first instrument having been the cimbalom, at the age of 12, his dedication focused to the guitar, the study of which instrument he continued in Brussels. The next step was to study classical music with Veronika Ravasz at the Ferenc Liszt Conservatory in Hungary. He then returned to Brussels to become an apprentice in the Roby Lakatos Ensemble for two years. During this period Laszlo has recognized his own infatuation with Jazz and Gipsy style music. Laszlo Balogh is now solo guitarist with the Roby Lakatos Ensemble
