Svetlana Makarova

At the age of 10 Makarova won the first prize at the Moscow International YouthTchaikovsky Competition. Thereafter she won different prizes at numerous state and international competitions in Russia and abroad. In 2005 she graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and in 2008 she completed her postgraduate studies with Prof. M. Glezarova.

She takes part in different Festivals such as the Verbier Music Festival (Switzerland), Miyazaki Music Festival (Japan), and Festivals in Italy, Israel, Spain. In 2005-2008 Makarova taught at the Gnessin’s College of Music (Moscow). Since 2008 she also assists Prof. P. Vernikov in masterclasses in Austria, Italy, Israel and Poland and she is an Assistant Principal Violin in the Palau de les Arts Orchestra in Valencia, Spain (conducted by L. Maazel and Z. Mehta).
